If I were getting married...

Lately i've been getting a lot of inquiries on good reception sites in Pittsburgh! There are so many unique places to hold a reception in the Steel City, which is great for those couples who really want their personality to shine at the reception. I love when couples get creative, and do their reception out-of-the-box. That being said- don't be afraid to ask a venue you love to do your reception, even if it isn't on their regular list of services! I've always wondered what a wedding in the PPG Wintergarden would be like, or even one at the Point Fountain on a balmy summer day...

Here is my top list of suggestions for the ever adventurous and unique:

6. Carnegie Science Center- Science Happens! And so must your wedding....
Enjoy your big day looking at the Point, the glass enclosed rooms are all the decorations you'll need to celebrate your special moments.

5. The Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium--sounds odd, but events held at this venue are sure to be memorable as guests see dazzling views of Pittsburgh down the river, and observe nature at its finest while sipping champagne.

4. The LeMont- Mt. Washington will ALWAYS be classy and a crowd pleaser. The LeMont has the best views of town, but keeps a intimate and non-restauranty feeling intact. AND you won't have to go far with your photographer for some awesome wedding pics!

3. The Aviary, nestled near the Spanish war streets in the North Side of town does weddings of all sizes in their rose garden and atrium. Great for summer/spring weddings, and the rental fee is really decent!

2. PNC Park--hit it out of the park! This location is really unique-and how about the backdrop? Voted the most beautiful park in creation (okay, that's just a title I gave it..but come on now!), men and women alike will love celebrating your special day in this amazing stadium.

1. For those nature lovers, Phipps conservatory is sure to please! I love this location because both the reception and wedding can take place here. Guests can enjoy a jaunt through the gardens while you are out and about in Oakland and town taking pictures with your bridal party.
