What is the biggest style faux paux you see brides making?

I think that brides sometimes have a tendency to pick out their bridal accessories solely based on what they like or what is trendy or stylish. The jewelry and accessories should accent the dress, not the other way around. ALWAYS choose the dress first and shop for jewelry that compliments the gown. 

Have you been given a family heirloom or have some fun accessories you'd like to incorporate into the wedding? I'd steer clear of using them on your wedding day unless coincidentally they are a perfect accent to your gown. These types of pieces are great to pull together looks for your shower or rehearsal dinner. 

What one item of jewelry do you consider to make the biggest impact?
I can't say any one accessory in particular makes the biggest impact for me, it depends on what I am wearing day to day. I really like statement pieces. If I wear a large bold pair of earrings I generally pair them with simple bangles. I LOVE statement necklaces. A fun statement necklace can transform a simple t shirt and pair of jeans into a fabulously accessorized outfit. You don't need to wear 5 pieces to be "accessorized", one great piece of jewelry speaks volumes.


What celebrity do you think sets trends when it comes to accessories and jewelry?
My favorite stylish celebrity is Gwen Stefani. She mixes and matches patterns and colors and is always put together from head to toe. Her styles are sometimes over the top but she is always perfectly accessorized. If you take a look at her wedding photos you will see that she incorporated her edgy style into her gown but still maintained a beautiful, feminine look. Her wedding look really represents who she is. Not only is she one of my favorite stylish celebs, she is one of my favorite celebrity brides!


What is your favorite Stella Dot item?
It is so hard to chose my favorite Stella & Dot piece. I'd have to say that right now I am loving the Birds of Paradise necklace. It is bold and colorful for summer. People are sometimes afraid to wear large, bold pieces. I often hear "Oh, where would I wear that?" I wear it everywhere, with everything! It goes great with jeans, shorts and tee, a sundress. It matches just about everything. It goes along with that theme that you don't need to be covered head to toe to be well accessorized.


What made you become a stylist with Stella & Dot?
A friend sent me a link to their website and I was instantly in love, I signed up as a stylist the next day! I love everything about the company..the design, the packaging, the customer service. I was a stay at home mom for 8 years and Stella & Dot gave me the spark I needed to get back out there and find something I love to do. Now I style fashion shows, hold home trunk shows and help other stylists get started with the business. I can honestly say I love what I do.
