| A gorgeous May bride... |
Saturday was the beginning of wedding season for me....and what a start it was. As I drove up to
Betsy's Barn in Portersville, PA the sky was a threatening black. Then it started to pour. And then I started to sweat! Thankfully, by the time
Lauren and Matt's wedding was supposed to start, the sky was clear and blue...truly the perfect day.
The best advice I can give any bride is make your wedding reflect who YOU and YOUR fiance are. Don't feel pressured to do things because other people think it would be a good idea--ask your self the question 'Does this reflect us?' if it doesn't--move on. It's a sure fire way to make your wedding the most memorable and wonderful day it can be! Lauren and Matt are a sweet and relaxed couple--Lauren was the calmest bride I've seen in some time. Betsy's Barn was the PERFECT location for their wedding and reception-warm, and inviting yet elegant and classic. The perfect simplicity of their wedding details were utterly charming.

| Isn't this barn magnificent! Tip: Leave yourself enough time to pull all the details and elements together to make your wedding vision come to pass. And if you really love your mom--hire a wedding planner to take care of it all! :) |
| Simple white linens with a pop of color provided by green hydrangea was all the decor that was needed. Tip: Look for a venue that requires minimal decoration. You'll save money and time by choosing wisely! |
| Pittsburgh Popcorn...the perfect favor for pretty much every occasion! Details like this give you another chance to show who you and your fiance really are and what you really like! (Lauren and Matt live in Pittsburgh's Southside--very near to the Pittsburgh Popcorn Company! :) |
| Vaulted ceilings are gorgeous--all you need are understated Chinese lanterns to full the space in a creative and beautiful way! |
| Every guests escort card was a Mason jar with their name and table number attached! These jars added to the decor AND were a nice way to save on renting glassware....well done Lauren and Matt! |
| Explanatory signage gives your guests a chance to understand the purposes of your wedding choices. Other chalkboard signs read: One Sweet Day in May (near cupcakes), Iced Tea, Lemonade and Water (near beverage station), and We thank you for sharing in our special day (near gifts). The chalkboards were the perfect accent to a barn reception! |
| Why pay a TON of money for floral arrangements when you can use candles and jars of many sizes? Lauren and her mom smartly collected jars of all shapes before her big day--and the reward was well worth it!These understated centerpieces were a hit! | | | | | | |
| Can we talk about this dress? Gor-geous!!! Lauren pulled off an open backed gown like I've never seen before. Purchased at The Winner in Hermitege, I can't imagine a more well-suited gown. Love. |
| Guests enjoyed the casual and beautiful atmosphere all night long! :) |
| Special shout out to the beautiful Megan for being my bridesmaid model--these super cute and colorful bridesmaid dresses were a mere $40 from JCrew! The key to every bridesmaids heart ladies--an inexpensive and re wearable dress. Truth. |
