Obsessed with {LocalLove}

When I saw this beautiful fall wedding from local (shout out to Pittsburgh!) photographer Aaron Varga Photography , I couldn't say no to a WeddObsessed feature! :) Chris and Tara are so obviously in love--and their wedding was gorgeous! I especially LOVE the grey bridesmaids gowns against the bright autumn colored trees!

A little about them:

"We originally met on a blind date 6 years ago through mutual family friends. We dated for a few months, but our relationship didn’t take off at that time and we slowly drifted apart. About 4 years later, after reconnecting on Facebook, we met up again at Station Square on St. Patrick’s Day. Shortly after, it led to months of long phone conversations and a genuine friendship that developed into much more. Over the next year, which included many family get togethers, 3 months of Chris living in Chicago, and foot surgery for Tara, we grew together and realized how much we were meant to be together.

One thing unique for our special day: Fall is our favorite time of year and since weather can be so unpredictable in Pittsburgh, we still wanted the chance of having the beautiful colorful leaves in our pictures. On our day, it was 65 degrees in November and it snowed not only the weekend before, but is snowed the weekend after!!! And the trees still looked awesome for our pictures!!!"

Love it you two! Congrats on an AWESOME wedding!

For the couple who has everything...

Let's level here:

When you're getting married, you and your spouse-to-be will probably have MANY discussions about money. More specifically, you'll chat about what you would do if you had unlimited money!

Steve and I talk all the time about the house we would buy, the vacation(s) we'd take, the investments we'd make if we could! Something to consider: Why not opt for a CASH REGISTRY before you say 'I do.'
ZankYou, is an AMAZING resource I wish we knew about when we were planning! Not only can you create your informational wedding website FREE of charge through ZankYou:

--you can ALSO register for unique gifts and recieve the full CASH value for them--deposited right to your bank account. ZankYou has the absolute lowest handling fee of ANY cash registry site out there (only 2.85%) and if you find a lower one--they'll match it!

Guests can buy items on your registry from all over the world, and easy peasy--you'll be able to monitor your account and progress from the comfort of your couch, on your computer.

I love this!! WeddObsessed tip of the day? Register for CASH through  ZankYou !

Obsessed With: Honeymoons.

Am I the only bride in the world who looked forward to her honeymoon with a fierce vengeance?? Like---thoughts of my honeymoon got me through the last weeks of planning, the pre-wedding day meltdown I had the night before I got married and the expectant getting ready moments the morning of our big day!

This is why I love this styled honeymoon shoot by Paula Player Photography. Period, end of story! I think this is a great idea--instead of trashing your dress, perhaps spend a day on your honeymoon capturing some great memories while relaxing with your love. :)

Plus. It is totally reasonable to document your pre-wedding workout body! Hey, you've worked for months to look amazing! Kudos to you, brides of the world! :)

Post blog 'to do' list:
1. Join a gym in prep for our 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY trip to Riviera Maya in less than 2
 months! :)
2. er....#1 about sums it up! :)

What Marrying at Any Age Means to Me

Today I read an article from the Washington Post on why women in their 20s rush in to marriage(and subsequently get divorced). One reason was young brides are insecure,  another was because it was convenient, and another suggested they settled to begin with.

As a woman who married at the age of 26, I took in to consideration the assumptions this article made. And I got perturbed. Pretty much all of my friends got married in their 20s, and while I won't assume I know their reasons for marrying when they did, I can almost guarantee it wasn't for the reasons listed in the article!

The  WP article was derived from a series of interviews for a book entitled 'Trash the Dress: Celebrating Divorce in Your 20s'. I have to say, I'm sad a book like this is even being written. Not because I think women should be in bad relationships or marriages, but because of the unrealistic expectation women (at any age!) may have about what getting married means (which may be the REAL reason why many marriages fail)....

Call me crazy, but I believe if you enter a marriage expecting life to be perfect, or that marriage will solve all your problems, or that you can change your spouse, or that it will never be hard, YOU WIll Be Disappointed With What You Find! Regardless of your age, vocation or reasons for getting married.

The Vow, a recent Hollywood blockbuster, is based on a true story about a young couple who married in their 20's and overcame seemingly insurmountable odds to make their marriage work. Car accident, amnesia, the whole 9 yards. In my opinion, there should be more attention paid to stories like theirs. In all reality, whether you marry in your 20's, 30's or 80's--marriage will take UNCONDITIONAL love, commitment, and a willingness to stand by your vows 'for better, or for worse.'

Obsessed with {A Mother's Touch}.

Wedding planning can be a fabulous time for a mother/daughter team. My mom and I did plenty of bonding when I was planning....so many special details of my special day were ones my mom handled!  Dawn &Sean Maguire enlisted the help of Dawn's mom as their wedding event designer. I am in LOVE with the amazing care that went in to a mothers touch on this special day in their lives. It's appropriate, on this Valentine's Day to give homage to mom's--the first people to EVER love us on earth. :_

See for yourself, Jayd Gardina Photography captured everything so beautifully...
