As a David’s Bridal bride myself, I am a fan. This store makes the every-day-girl-on-a-budget look AMAZING for her special day. This fabulous guest post comes from an Priti, an industry expert. One of my secret goals is to go in to the store again someday to try on some of the Vera Wang designs they now carry! Anyone want to join?
With every season come different trends in wedding fashion. Over the summer we saw a lot of lightweight, chiffon dresses and floral inspired styles. For the fall, all you lace lovers out there will be happy to know it is looking like your time! All of the fall wedding dress collections recently debuted and lace is definitely at the forefront of trends for this upcoming season. In addition you will see a lot of other trends from the past are back in style as they come back through the never ending fashion life cycle. Check out 5 of fall’s biggest trends as shown through the White by Vera Wang Collection.
As I said before lace is making a big comeback. Whether you want to go all out in a dress fully lined in lace, or opt for a dress that features lace appliques, the texture provided lends to the dress and adds a touch of vintage. Illusion necklines are also big this year. This dress features a lace illusion piece reminiscent of the style of dress worn by Princess Kate Middleton at the Royal Wedding.
You can also expect to see a lot of big tulle skirts. Tulle is a fabric that used to be reserved for the under part of a dress but has lately become the star. It provides volume but is soft at the same time. I also love the silhouette provided by the basque waist of this dress. The way the bodice dips down in the middle visually elongates the waist and narrows the hips, perfect for many body types.
White is the traditional color for wedding dresses but many designers have been adding dresses with color to their collections. While you will be able to find gowns in many colors including red and black, it is
shades of blush, champagne, and platinum that will make the biggest splash this season. If these styles are too non-traditional for you, consider adding a belt to a white gown for some color.
Peplum dresses are a trend that we have not previously seen in the wedding fashion world. This style defines the waist and enhances curves. This particular dress also incorporates the previously mentioned
trend of color with its champagne shade. It is a modern and sophisticated silhouette for the more daring bride.
The neckline of a dress is significant; this is the part of the gown that frames that most important part of you, your face. Strapless dresses have been the style of choice for most brides in the past but with
the new necklines being incorporated into dresses lately you may see a shift. From illusion looks to one shoulders to halters, there is surely a neckline that is perfect for each bride.
Just like Jaime, I too love a good bargain! I mentioned earlier that these dresses are from the White by Vera Wang Collection. A lot of you may have thought Vera Wang = EXPENSIVE but if you didn’t
know, this collection of wedding dresses is actually at David’s Bridal! Vera Wang, the queen of wedding dresses, in your reach? It doesn’t get much better.
Can you see yourself walking down the aisle in any of these latest trends or are they a little too over the top for you?
